The dock masters are the front face of the customer experience during reservations and are the primary contact for the customer regarding reserving boats and facilitating their experience. Dockmasters provide an excellent “boat-cierge” experience to customers upon their arrival and departure from the location, and ensure all boats are cleaned, prepared, and well-maintained daily.
Essential Position Functions:
Deliver exceptional customer service (“boat-cierge”) to all customers on the docks. Meet them at their vehicle, assist in moving personal items to the boat, provide assistance boarding/disembarking, and offer advice as to local waters and local attractions. Then assist members back to their vehicle when they return.
Carry out daily cleaning tasks, as well as daily vessel deep cleanings – recording these items in Connecteam each shift.
Clean/prep boats for daily reservations, between reservations, and at the end of each day.
Assist customers with check-out and check-in procedures for each reservation.
Maintain and clean club areas including dock boxes, check-out stand, and office areas.
Inventory boat safety gear and boat conditions. Report deficiencies as needed to the Site Manager.
Inform Site Manager of any needed supplies for assigned location.
Work with Site Manager to resolve any customer issues that arise.
Complete daily vessel cleaning tasks, assigned in Connecteam, along with the daily vessel deep cleaning schedule dictated by the Site Manager.
Experienced dockmasters may be assigned the “Manager of the Day” (MOD) role at a location on certain days, in which they would be responsible for being the lead point of contact for decisions regarding inclement weather, member issues, or any other daily operational decisions.
Other duties as assigned by manager.

Excellent time management and organization skills.
Ability to lift and carry large/heavy personal gear (i.e. coolers, etc.) on and off boats and into/out of personal vehicles.
Familiar and prior experience with small boat systems and operation is preferred.
Small boat handling skills (and/or prior experience operating single engine outboard 19 ft – 24 ft) is preferred but can be taught on the job.
Position involves availability to work weekends and holidays
Must be at least 21 years old
